The commission rifle's bolt action style and design was a Fee modified Mauser action. The barrel style and design and rifling had been almost copied within the French Lebel. The rifle has an odd appearance as the whole 'floating' barrel is encased inside of a sheet metal tube for defense, but with the tube eradicated the rifle appears to be like al
